Discover something about yourself

Last weekend was the Alignment Reset Workshop for Spring. We had a small group, and it was a wonderful afternoon. Attendees learned about the organs of spring through a Traditional Chinese Medicine lens: liver and gallbladder, and how to support them with food and lifestyle habits. I brought in something new which I thought would be fun, creating a visual representation of the internal emotions. Each person created their own using the media of their choosing. It wasn't about creating something beautiful or "finished". They didn't even see what the other was creating, so there was no comparing oneself to the others.

I brought that project in to help connect with the emotions we tend to hold. Remember that our emotions are meant to be felt...all of them. They are not good or bad. These emotions have direct ties back to our physical health. When working with the liver and gallbladder, its the emotions of anger and happiness that we need to be aware of.

Anger: here are my thoughts on it

When you think about anger and the energy it forms, it tends to have a rising energy, warm or even hot. It can make us sweat and raise our blood pressure. The phrase, "I was so angry it made my blood boil" is a good representation of that. Anger comes into play when we really feel passionate about something. That passion too has a rising energy to it. Anger is not wrong; it is what we choose to do with that anger that can be destructive or helpful. The goal: focus on right action when anger arises.

When you find that you are angry about something, I want you to pause (that takes some practice and maybe that's not an immediate pause, maybe after several minutes or hours), and be curious about what's under the anger. Where is it really coming from? During some of my meditations, I ask people to think about where the emotion is in their body, then connect a string to it. Then follow that string back, being curious to where it leads them. I encourage you to try that and use that visualization. It typically leads you to another emotion, possibly worry or fear. Practice this with no judgement, just curiosity.

Happiness: and my thoughts on it

Oh happiness. I think it's a word that is used way too much. Like happiness is the ultimate goal in life. I used to think this. I don't anymore after practicing qigong. That may seem surprising to you that I just said that. But happiness is an emotion that comes and goes. It's not a destination, somewhere to reach and stay there. It's noticing moments of happiness that is my goal now. I am finding that I really need to be fully present in my life to acknowledge those moments. Living mindfully. Think about those beautiful moments that put a smile on your face. Things that make you laugh. To me, that is happiness.

Emotions are meant to be felt in waves. So if anger is the bottom of the wave, happiness is the top. We need to get used to riding that wave. Not get stuck in a tidal wave or riptide.

Because it was a workshop based on "alignment" I also brought in my Human Design and Success Codex tools. The more I learn and use these tools in my own life and with others, the more I get excited about them. I love hearing from people...

"wow, this is spot on - I really feel seen." or

"I always thought this about myself, but now this just confirms it."

I too have felt this way. Feeling seen and having that confirmation has given me confidence in being myself. It's liberating and freeing!

With these tools, it is my mission to help others, like you, feel the same way - to show you the path to being your natural self and reaching your full potential. Giving you the framework to live your life in alignment with your values and strengths.

Since these tools I use are new to most people, in a couple of weeks I'll be hosting a free, week-long learning opportunity: Primary Genius Discovery Week — a short guided experience where each participant will receive their personal Success Codex chart along with a summary, and I'll send short emails throughout the week exploring the Primary Genius.

Your Primary Genius is one of the core elements within the Success Codex which is the core essence of who you are. It reflects the energetic and personality blueprint that shapes how you naturally move through life.

At the end of the week, we'll gather for a live virtual call where I'll do some more teaching and answer questions people may have about their own chart. The call will be recorded, so if you have a conflict with the date...no worries!

If this sounds interesting to you and you want to deepen your awareness about yourself, you can learn more and register here. It'll be fun and enlightening! It's free, and you just have to sign up to have everything delivered right to your inbox.

In peace & love,

Julie
